The anticipation of spring break has been mounting during the last week of classes. When Friday finally comes most of us will be heading home, to the beach or to a friend's house.
These music venues across the Carolinas offer live entertainment in a wide variety of genres of music in case you need a break from lounging on the beach or from working at home.
The shows encompass a variety of music styles including punk, metal, indie, rock, hip-hop and reggae
From big acts performing on the stage of Amos' Southend in Charlotte or the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, to local bands performing at New Brookland Tavern in Columbia or Music Farm in Charleston, there's a show for everyone.
Some bands will even be touring the Carolinas during spring break, so you can catch them twice if you'd like.
Jupiter One, a rock / new wave / alternative band from New York City, will be on tour with the rock / alternative band People in Planes from Cardiff, Wales.
The bands will be playing together at The Handlebar in Greenville on March 20, as well as at Amos' Southend in Charlotte on March 21.
Devildriver, a metal / hardcore band, is on tour with Napalm Death, Straght Line Stitch, 36 Crazy Fists and Invitro.
The bands will be performing together at Ground Zero in Spartanburg on March 19 and at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach on March 20.
All of the shows range in price from $5 to $25. Some shows require ordering tickets online, so check the Web sites provided.
