Rodd named Big South player of the week

Hotel's Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the Big South, announced by the league today.
Rodd shot 60 percent from the floor and averaged 22.5 points per game to lead Winthrop to a 2-0 record in Big South play last week. She got her week started with 23 points on 9-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-8 from down town to lead Winthrop to a 77-53 win over Charleston Southern on Feb. 12.
Just four days later against High Point, Rodd put in 22 points as she connected on 9-of-18 from the floor, 2-of-4 from long range and 2-of-2 at the line in Winthrop's 65-47 win over the Panthers. In the two game span, she shot 58 percent from beyond the arc, pulled down six boards and came away with three steals and
one assist.
Rodd hit seven seven threes in the two games and now has 66 on the season and 193 in her career. She holds the school record for threes in a season with 74. Currently with 193 career threes, she ranks third on the Big South all-time list behind leader Nikki Reddick (239) and Kylie Williamson (203).
This is Rodd's second player of the week honor as she received the honor after the first week of the season.
