RADFORD, VA- Junior Daniel Revivo picked up right where he left off in 2006 as he scored four goals to lead Winthrop to a 5-0 victory over USC-Upstate in the first game of the RU Classic.
This was the second straight season in which the Eagles scored five goals in their season-opener as they defeated North Florida 5-1 last year. In that win, Skonicki scored a hat trick, which was his first collegiate start.
Revivo's hat trick was the third of his career and it was the sixth in the last three seasons by an Eagle.
Patrick Mitrovich and Mike McCullion combined on the shutout. Mitrovich had three saves in the game.
Just one day after netting five goals in its season opener, the Winthrop men's soccer team couldn't find the net at all and dropped its first game of the 2007 with a 1-0 loss to Binghamton in the RU Classic.
