Tickets for the first and second rounds of the 2006 NIT Preseason Tipoff Tournament at Charlotte's Bobcats Arena will go on sale Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Winthrop Athletic Ticket Box Office.
Between Sept. 13 and Sept. 25, tickets will only be sold to Winthrop season ticket holders, Winthrop students and faculty/staff.
Beginning Sept. 25, all remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public. Winthrop has an allotment of 800 tickets for its seating sections.
Coach Gregg Marshall's Winthrop Eagles will face Iona at 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 following the opening game between North Carolina and Sacred Heart which is set to start at 7 p.m.
The two winners and two losers will play on Nov. 15 at times to be announced later. The second night winner will advance to the NIT semi-finals in New York's Madison Square Garden on Nov. 22.
Ticket books for both nights (all four games) are priced at $105 each for the lower level and $70 for the upper level, according to Winthrop athletic director Tom Hickman. Tickets for single nights will not be sold. There is no limit on the number of tickets each person can purchase.
Tickets may be purchased in person by cash or credit card at the Winthrop Ticket Box Office, located on the lower level front entrance of the Winthrop Coliseum, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Credit card purchases will also be accepted by telephone by calling 803-323-2345.
