1) Order an appetizer instead of a full meal. Appetizers are designed to serve more than one person so they can fill you up for half the price.
2) If you are on a budget, make sure to choose your meal carefully before ordering. Instead of ordering the steak entree that can top over $20, spend within your limits and choose the chicken dish or a rice and vegetable plate that can cut your bill in half.
3) If steak is what you are craving, however, go for a smaller amount of steak or a different type. Steaks are priced by ounces and cut so going with a different choice can save you dollars and still give you what you crave.
4) An appetizing selection can be found off the kids' menu rather than the restaurant's adult menu. Although not all restaurants allow customers over 12 to or
der a kid size meal for themselves, many places will let adults choose a kids meal that comes complete with main item and a side. Although there may not be any leftovers to take home with you, the selection can still fill you up at a cheaper cost.
5) Instead of ordering a soda when going out to eat, order water. Not only is it a healthier choice but it will save you an extra two dollars. Also, for those over 21, skip the alcohol at restaurants. Any beer or liquor is guaranteed to cost you more at a restaurant.
6) At the end of the meal, choose to skip dessert. Instead of getting the six dollar sundae at the restaurant, go elsewhere and you can get a tasty ice cream treat for much less.
