The Winthrop women's basketball team broke their six game losing streak Saturday, Feb. 25 at Charleston Southern.
The Eagles defeated the Buccaneers 58-50.
Freshman forward Ashley Fann led the way for the Eagles with 18 points. Senior guard Ashley Carey, senior guard Iva Milevoj and freshman center Lisa Koop also scored in double figures.

The Eagles final regular season game of the year comes at home this Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. against High Point.
Baseball
The Winthrop baseball team swept their series with the Xavier Musketeers to extend their winning streak to seven games.
The Eagles won game one Friday afternoon 5-1, behind the pitching of freshman Alex Wilson who picked up his third win of the season.
Saturday afternoon the Eagles were victorious 5-3. Junior Heath Rollins pitched his first complete game of the year, recording 13 strikeouts and picking up his second win on the year.
The final game Sunday afternoon, sophomore Josh McDonald picked up his first win of the year in the Eagles 15-3 victory.
With the wins, the Eagles were ranked 24th in the first Baseball America poll of the season. The Eagles are now 10-2 on the year.
The Eagles host Kent State for a three game series this weekend starting Friday, March 3 at 4 p.m.
Softball
The Winthrop softball team struggled at the Stetson Softball Tournament this weekend as they went 1-4 on the weekend.
Friday afternoon the Eagles won their first contest of the tournament over Central Florida 8-3. Sophomore infielder Sarah Magee collected three hits to help the Eagles to the victory.
Later Friday the Eagles lost 7-0 to the host Stetson Hatters.
The Eagles dropped both of their games Saturday, 4-2 to Western Michigan and 2-1 to Marist.
Sunday afternoon Samford downed the Eagles 6-0.
Winthrop will be back in action at the Georgia Tech Buzz Classic this weekend.
