WU class tutors immigrant kids

Sullivan Middle School, located right down the road from Winthrop University, holds students in grades six through eight. But don't be surprised if you see a Winthrop student's car in the parking lot. That's because Winthrop students enrolled in Spanish 340C travel to the middle school once a week to teach English to the immigrant children whose mother tongue is Spanish.

Take your time, worship your food

In France, to enjoy eating is almost a religion. Cheese, bread and wine build an inescapable holy trinity, backed up by their numerous meal apostles. The French are able to spend hours for lunch, even businessmen. Most spend twice as much money on food as Americans, preferring often to improve their quality of life rather than save money.
