Students prepare for off-campus move

Off-Campus Student Affairs is improving existing resources for students as concern grows among upperclassmen about the effects of the new housing priority. The decision to grant housing priority to underclassmen, in conjunction with The Courtyard confusion, has angered many juniors and seniors since school officials announced the plan in late February.

Show to help young adults make wise life decisions

A new television show that could soon be coming to cable television is seeking script writers, actors and "young leaders" aged 16 to 26. "Here We Go!" is a half-hour production that focuses on young adults and decision-making. In each episode, the main character faces a tough scenario, makes a bad decision, learns from an educational segment about smart choices and has a second chance to get things right.

Active adult community to become Winthrop's new neighbor

An active adult community will replace a delapidated mill next to Winthrop. ELA Corporation the company that built University Place apartments, has announced that they will be developing the 24 acres it owns between campus and downtown by putting in an active adult community to draw people older than 55 to spend their retirement years.

Water tower downfall: Student arrested for monkeying around

Campus police usually refers students to the dean of students for judicial sanctions instead of making arrests, Police Chief Frank Zebedis said. One Winthrop student was never given such a choice. The student was arrested on March 21 while climbing Winthrop's water tower.
